mailed?By Law, Tax bills are issued on or
before June 30th each
Year and are mailed to the last
known address on record at the
office. What is the due
date of the tax bill?Generally, Real Property Taxes are
payable on August 31st
each year. Payment after this date
is delinquent and will be assessed a
penalty of 1.5% of the amount due
for each month. What happens if the tax bills are
mailed after the June 30th
date?A new due date will be established.
Where should I pay
my property tax bill?Real Property Taxes are paid at the
Department of Finance, Treasury
Division.Can I pay my bill
on line?That service is not yet available.
However,payments can be made by mailing your
check/money order to the Department
of Finance, Treasury Division or you
can call that department at
340-774-4750 and have the payment
done by credit card.
What should I do
if I am not satisfied with my
assessment?If your request is before the due
date of August 31st, you
may contact your respective Tax
Assessor's Office for an
administrative review. If you are
still not satisfied with this
review, a formal appeal should be
filed with the Board of Tax Review
on or before September 15th.
