LT. GOVERNOR RICHARDS OFFERS CONDOLENCES TO THE
FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF FORMER LT. GOVERNOR MILLIN
Lieutenant Governor Vargrave Richards extends his heartfelt condolences
to the family and friends of former Lieutenant Governor Henry Millin.
Richards stated that former Lieutenant Governor Millin was a "tireless
worker on behalf of the people of the Virgin Islands who maintained
high standards and a great sense of pride and integrity. Mr. Millin
epitomized Willa A. Foster's philosophy that 'quality is never an accident;
it is always the result of high intentions, sincere effort, intelligent
direction and skillful execution.' Mr. Millin strived in every respect
to be a diligent public servant."
In addition, his astute business acumen gave him an edge for understanding
the needs of driving the private sector economy of the territory. "He
was indeed an excellent role model who left a legacy to be admired and
emulated," Richards said.
It is stated that the growth and development of a people is the highest
calling of a leader. Former Lieutenant Governor Millin was a leader
who led by example and who valued those he led.
In conclusion, Richards stated, "There is much that I had the
privilege of learning from this man. May he rest in peace. Once again
the Virgin Islands loses one of its most astute leaders. My most sincere
condolences to family and friends."
