LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR LENDS SUPPORT TO REVAMPING OF TELEVISION SERIES
"THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD"
Lieutenant Governor Vargrave Richards lends his hearty support to the
dramatic TV series "Through the Eyes of a Child."
"This well thought out TV series produced in the Virgin Islands
tells the story of what life was like during historic periods for children;
stories of great athletes, historical heroes, cultural moments, pirates,
slaves, entertainers and many more stories that enable children to learn
important lessons of the rich and vibrant history of the Virgin Islands,"
Lieutenant Governor Richards states.
Produced by community stalwart Renny Roker, Lieutenant Governor Richards
sees the reproduction of this once successful TV series as an opportunity
to involve students, teachers, parents and the community in the development
of an educational enrichment program aimed at assisting students to
strive for higher achievement levels.
Lieutenant Governor Richards states that "educational enrichment
comes about through the understanding of historical roots, through the
enactment of various periods in our history that allow for the sensitization
to various cultural, social, economic and moral challenges faced by
our people."
In conclusion, Lieutenant Governor Richards commends the Renny Roker
Presents production team for their hard work and dedication to remaking
the series, and encourages the community to stand behind it.
