ACTING GOVERNOR RICHARDS EXTENDS HIS SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY
AND FRIENDS OF FORMER SENATOR MICHAEL A. PAIEWONSKY
Acting Governor Vargrave Richards extends his heartfelt condolences
to the family, friends and constituents of former Senator Michael A.
Paiewonsky.
"I came to know Michael for his persistent and relentless pursuit
in improving Virgin Islands Government all levels. His service in the
13th and 14th Legislatures and subsequent bids for office demonstrated
his deep caring for community well-being, and his commitment to service
above self. His continued interest in good government and his thoughtful
and insightful suggestions remained a constant to many of his former
colleagues. I will always remember our many discussions about the issues
affecting Virgin Islanders," Acting Governor Richards shared.
"Known to us all as an upstanding citizen, devoted legislator,
author, historian and art aficionado, Michael A. Paiewonsky served this
Territory well and left a unique and appreciable legacy in Virgin Islands
history. He parlayed this diverse background and multiple interests
into becoming a successful and versatile businessman," Richards
continued.
"I am deeply saddened, as the majority of Virgin Islanders are,
by Michael's sudden passing. He will be remembered affectionately and
admirably for his generous contributions and leadership in striving
to make the Virgin Islands a better place for everyone," Richards
concluded.
Michael Paiewonsky will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
