LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF
MANUEL "MANOLIN" BERMUDEZ
Lieutenant Governor Vargrave Richards extends his sincere condolences
to the family and friends of Manuel "Manolin" Bermudez Morales.
"'Manolin' as he was affectionately referred to was a community
icon for over 50 years. Passionate about his Hispanic heritage and equally
passionate about his life, he demonstrated unshakeable determination
in his life's journey," Richards stated.
"'Manolin's' receipt of a Lifetime Achievement Award presented
by Delegate to Congress Donna Christian-Christensen at the Hispanos
Unidos de Las Islas Virgenes Hispanic Heritage Recognition Dinner was
a proud moment for Manuel, family and friends. It was due respect for
the decades of invaluable contributions and experiences shared with
the St. Croix community in numerous capacities," Lieutenant Governor
Richards continued.
Richards stated that he remembers "Manolin" for his business
acumen, his membership on the Virgin Islands Small Business Administration
Agency, and for his generosity to various social causes, namely to St.
Mary's School and to the rebuilding of the Holy Cross Catholic Church.
"Manuel 'Manolin' Bermudez Morales gave generously of his time,
energy and money. He was committed, dedicated and compassionate toward
family, friends and strangers alike. He typified the strong 'patriarch'
whom family and friends could turn to for advice and support and who
knew that 'Manolin' would always be there. 'Manolin' will be dearly
missed," Lieutenant Governor Richards explained.
May his family and friends be comforted during this difficult time
knowing that Manuel "Manolin" Bermudez Morales was greatly
loved and admired.
