Lieutenant Governor Vargrave Richards invites the public to attend
the Annual VI SHIP Conference, presented by the V.I. State Health Insurance
Assistance Program (VI SHIP)/V.I. Medicare Office, a Division of the
Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
The 2004 Conference theme, "FOSTERING UNDERSTANDING OF MEDICARE
ISSUES," will include clarification of the Medicare Modernization
Act of 2003, as well as discussion on the Medicare Drug Discount Card
and Transitional Assistance Programs. It will also feature health and
eye screenings.
The VI SHIP Conference will be held on St. Croix on October 28, 2004,
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gertrude's Restaurant; and on St. Thomas on
October 29, 2004, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn (formerly
Windward Passage). Registration is on a first come-first served basis.
