LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR VARGRAVE RICHARDS EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO
FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF MRS. BERYL KNIGHT

Lieutenant Governor Vargrave Richards extends his deepest sympathy to the family and friends of his beloved Godmother Mrs. Beryl Knight.

"Nen Knight as I came to know her over the years was the quintessential matriarch to her immediate family and to the scores of other children and adults who came to regard her as 'friend, family or surrogate' mother," Lieutenant Governor Richards shared.

"Oftentimes in our community we elevate those who have become known publicly for major accomplishments, however, I believe people like Mrs. Beryl Knight deserve the highest respect and admiration for the challenging and tough job of being a mother. Nen Knight not only raised 10 children of her own, but she lovingly nurtured and guided dozens of children, grandchildren and others, including myself, in the community," Lieutenant Governor Richards continued.

Lieutenant Governor Richards further stated: "I watched and marveled over the years at her continual sacrifices, her even-handed discipline and her relentless drive to afford her children the opportunities to gain a better life. She was a continuous source of support and inspiration to all who came to know her and love her as I did."

"May she rest in peace knowing that her contributions to family and community are enormously appreciated and that each life touched by her wise words and caring actions has been made so much richer," Lieutenant Governor Richards concluded.
