LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR EXTENDS SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF FORMER
SENATOR HECTOR CINTRON
Lieutenant Governor Vargrave A. Richards extends his sincere condolences
to the family, friends and associates of former Virgin Islands Senator
Hector L. Cintron.
"Cintron was passionate and vociferous in his advocacy for the
development of St. Croix," Richards stated. "He displayed
his passion in full Technicolor for colleagues and the community alike.
A populist and a committed servant to the territory, he marched to the
beat of his own drum, yet was repeatedly called on to serve as a legislator
for eight terms - a testament that he fulfilled the needs of many in
the Hispanic community and territory-wide."
Former Senator Cintron made a tremendous impact on the life and culture
of St. Croix, demonstrated through his love and involvement in baseball
and other sports and cultural events.
"My deepest condolences are offered to all who mourn his passing
and who came to appreciate the unique gifts of his philosophy and personality
he shared with us. May he rest in peace," the Lieutenant Governor
concluded.
