SECRET SANTA DONATES ARMORED VESTS TO V.I. POLICE
Lieutenant Governor Vargrave Richards is pleased to announce that a
"Secret Santa" is donating 50 bullet-proof vests to the Virgin
Islands Police Department and local security officers.
The benefactor, who prefers to remain anonymous, is providing more
than $20,000 for the express purchase of nine "Xtreme Level II"
concealable vests, and 41 "Impulse #10 Level II" vests.
"This donation by an EDC beneficiary is in the true spirit of
the holidays," Richards said. "The generosity of our growing
business community is welcomed and appreciated. Through the support
of our private sector, working hand in hand with the Virgin Islands
Government, these islands will prosper and become a safer place to raise
our children."
The Lieutenant Governor expressed his gratitude on behalf of the gift
recipients and the entire community.
"We must keep our officers safe and provide them with the equipment
they need," Richards said. "This is just one example of the
tangible benefits of our Economic Development program. It has been a
real pleasure to partner with EDC in attracting beneficiaries to do
business in our territory, especially on St. Croix. Not only will they
bring new jobs and economic stimulation, but they will give back to
the community."
The Lieutenant Governor sends his best wishes to all for a Merry Christmas,
Happy Kwanzaa, and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
